Chase Lo (they/them) is an actor, writer, director, and movement artist whose creative journey spans Toronto, Montreal, and Taipei. Their directorial debut, Something’s Phishy—which they co-wrote and starred in—won outACTRAto’s Queer Your Stories Pitch. Something’s Phishy had its world premiere at the 2024 Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival, followed by its U.S. premiere at the July 2025 NewFilmmakers Los Angeles Monthly Film Festival.

Chase is currently part of the Reelworld Screen Institute’s Emerging 20 Program, where they are developing their first feature film, Glimmer—a neo-noir dark comedy about a people-pleasing banker who enters the world of sex work and becomes a vigilante to save their missing friend. Alongside this, Chase is also developing the TV series Imperial Threads, which follows a troubled foster teen who discovers a mystical jade hairpin that transports her to ancient China, where she embodies a powerful empress with extraordinary magic. It’s a genre-blending story that weaves modern-day drama with the opulence and intrigue of the Tang Dynasty, exploring heritage, survival, and chosen family.

As an actor, Chase recently appeared in the hit series Doc and voiced Okul in Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
